HELLO, I’M CARA

I have loved photography for as long as I can remember. It’s very common to find me digging through old boxes of photos or sifting through old photo albums.

Looking back and reminiscing on happy times and special moments creates an emotional bubble, as if on auto-response we return to the moment that we can see in the image. The feeling of nostalgia that transports us back to happy times.

 I am a mom of two perfect angels (I am biased, but seriously they’re the best) and married to my best friend. I love capturing our family in all of its glory: messy, dressed up, happy, silly, sleepy, excited and everything in between.

My goal as your photographer is to provide you with an intimate and unique experience. I like to create a fun and relaxed environment where my clients feel like they can truly be themselves, let loose, and feel the moment. Many of my clients have become good friends, and I think that is a testament to the environment I’m able to create for people to open up and be authentically themselves.

Katie, a mother to an adorable one-year old boy, and a tenured early childhood school teacher with a master’s degree in education, taking photos was something she did nearly every day. Realizing she wasn’t the only one who wanted to preserve the precious moments of childhood, she began to learn more about photography alongside her childhood best friend Cara. Katie is capable of capturing a fleeting moment, a giggle, a smile, a blink, a flash, and preserving it forever. She has the ability to bring out the natural essence in your children – and your family – in the most honest of ways.

In 2022, with a leap of faith and the support of family, both Cara and Katie said goodbye to their full-time teaching careers to follow their passion in family photography. Cara and Katie have been a powerful duo since they were children and it is a dream come true to work alongside one another.
